Articles from 1874
The Marlborough Times, 28th March 1874:
We hear with satisfaction that the parish church of Milton, Pewsey, is about to be restored. Few churches we have visited in the county need it more. There is I believe something like £300 already in hand or promised towards the essential work, but much more will be needed to carry it out anything like entirely.
The Marlborough Times, 4th July 1874:
Marriages: On the 24th ult., at the parish church, Caldecote, by the Rev. E.A. POWELL, Rector, assisted by the Rev. JENNER G. HILLIER, cousin of the bride, CHARLES JOHN PADDISON Esq., of Wood Hall, Bishops Stortford, to REBECCA PORTER, youngest daughter of the late EDMUND T. SOMERSET Esq. of Havering House, Milton Lilbourne, and step-daughter of W.H. PENNING Esq., FGS, of Caldecote Rectory near Cambridge.
